Connie Granja is the photographer behind the lens of Paper Petunia Family Photography. Her love for photography began as a child - she was 12 years old when Hurricane Andrew devastated her hometown of Miami, Florida. Thankfully, she and her family survived without injury but it saddened her that with so much destruction, things that would never be the same as she'd known them - the house she grew up in, the toys she played with and the neighborhood she knew. Her mom bought her a simple 35mm film Kodak camera and from then on, it became important for her to document the things and people in her life. She wanted to capture every moment just as it was so she could cherish them forever.
Today, she jokingly considers herself to be the family "archivist" and loves to collect objects from her families' past - especially old photographs.
Connie has always been passionate about art and design, and studied Advertising and Graphic Design at Florida International University. She has worked as a graphic artist for almost a decade, but it wasn't until the birth of her first daughter in 2010, that she decided to combine her love of design with her passion for photography. With Paper Petunia Family Photography, she hopes to capture your moments so they last a lifetime.
If you live in South Florida (North Miami / Broward County / South Palm Beach area) she would love to have honor of capturing those memories for you.
