Q. WHEN SHOULD I MAIL OUT MY SAVE-THE-DATES?
A. Save the Dates can be sent out 3 months to a year before the wedding. back to top

Q. WHEN SHOULD I MAIL OUT MY WEDDING INVITATIONS?
A. Invitations should be sent out 2-3 months before the wedding. Invitations for destination weddings should be sent out 3-4 months before the event. back to top

Q. WHEN SHOULD I ORDER MY INVITATIONS?
A. Wedding invitations should be ordered as soon as possible, after you have determined the wedding date and location. For an invitation from our collection, please allow a minimum of 8 weeks before you want to mail. For custom designed invitations, please allow a minimum of 10 weeks before you want to mail. This will allow ample time for designing, proofs, printing and assembly. Production can take 4-6 weeks. We also assemble each invitation with care and detail. back to top

Q. HOW MANY INVITATIONS SHOULD I ORDER?
A. You'll need to count up how many invitations you'll need to mail out (not the number of guests invited), and then add at least 10-15% to that final number to be sure you have enough for keepsakes as well as last minute invitations. We have a minimum order of 25 to reprint, so ordering extras is always a good idea, and can end up being a lot less expensive than re-ordering. Once your minimum order has been met, you may order any odd or even amount. back to top

Q. IS THERE A MINIMUM ORDER?
A. For wedding invitations the minimum order is 25. For baby announcements or showers the minimum is 15. back to top

Q. IS IT POSSIBLE TO CUSTOMIZE AN INVITATION? WHAT WOULD BE THE ADDITIONAL COST?
A. Absolutely! Whether you're looking for a particular font, color, paper, or ribbon, we can work with you to customize any invitation style. There is usually no extra charge for substitutions. back to top

Q. DO YOU OFFER OTHER MATCHING PAPER ITEMS TO MY INVITATIONS?
A. Yes. We offer save the dates, rsvp cards, rsvp postcards, custom stamps, programs, favor tags or stickers, menus, place cards, seating cards, table numbers, and thank you cards to coordinate with most of our invitations. Additional requests may be accommodated. back to top

Q. I NEED MY INVITATION PRINTED IN ANOTHER LANGUAGE, CAN THAT BE DONE?
A. Yes. Although we do not have translation services we can print in other languages if you can provide the written text. We can then do the layout/design for you. back to top

Q. WHAT DATE SHOULD I USE ON MY RSVP CARDS?
A. We advise that you check with your caterer or reception location to find out when they need a final head-count. Then allow another week or two for any tardy RSVP's. Unless there are unusual circumstances, 3-4 weeks prior to the event is standard. back to top

Q. DO I NEED A RECEPTION CARD?
A. When the reception and ceremony are at different locations, it's traditional to include this information on a separate card. If the reception and ceremony share a site, there is no need for the extra insert. Also, when your reception doesn't immediately follow the ceremony, be sure to mention the time. back to top

Q. DO YOUR INVITATIONS COME WITH INNER AND OUTER ENVELOPES?
A. No, all our invitations come with a single outside envelope. Outer envelopes can be ordered seperately. back to top

Q. CAN I GET A DIFFERENT ENVELOPE FOR MY INVITATIONS?
A. Yes, all our invitation design styles come with a coordinated outer and response envelope. However, any of the envelopes can be substituted for other colors. back to top

Q. DO YOU HAVE LINED ENVELOPES?
A. We offer customized lining of our envelopes for an additional fee. back to top

Q. CAN I ORDER EXTRA ENVELOPES?
A. Yes you can, though it's often not necessary. We include 10 extra envelopes with every order to cover mistakes. If you feel you'll need more than that, let us know and we are glad to provide pricing. back to top

Q. CAN YOU PRINT A RETURN ADDRESS ON THE ENVELOPES?
A. Yes, we can print your return address on the back flap of your invitation envelopes and thank you cards, and on the front of the reply envelopes. back to top

Q. CAN YOU PRINT OUR GUEST'S ADDRESS ON THE ENVELOPES?
A. No, but we can recommend a calligrapher. back to top

Q. HOW LONG WILL MY ORDER TAKE?
A. After the has signed off on the sample, production usually takes between 4-6 weeks. back to top

Q. DO I RECEIVE A SAMPLE OF MY CUSTOM INVITATION BEFORE IT PRINTS?
A. Absolutely. Once all your designs are finalized, we assemble one complete printed sample to specification and mail it out to you. We do not charge for proofs, and require that our clients review each layer of their invitation ensemble (even envelopes) and a signed Proof Approval form is required before we will print. back to top

Q. DO YOU PROOFREAD MY ORDER?
A. No. If something catches our eye, we'll let you know, but in generally we do not proofread your printed materials. Remember to proofread your invitation text. Have one (or several!) other people read over the text as well, looking for typos and misspellings. Paper Petunia is not responsible for these sorts of errors. Unfortunately, if you find such errors in your printed pieces, we cannot offer a refund--and we do have to charge for reprinting. We obviously don't want this to happen, so we encourage you to proofread and proofread again! We will print the text exactly as you send it to us. When you approve your sample and have signed the Proof Approval Form, we will produce an invitation set that looks exactly like that proof (keeping in mind that color varies from screen to screen). back to top

Q. HOW MUCH POSTAGE WILL MY INVITATIONS NEED?
A. Most of our products require letter postage. Square invitations will require extra postage. Postcards will need postcard stamps. If including additional enclosures, please have your items weighed at the post office before purchasing stamps. It is best to bring one invitation to your post office and have it weighed and looked over by one of their representatives, especially because the post office rules change quite frequently. Please do not order or use postage before doing this, as it can be costly in the end. Paper Petunia is not responsible for items returned for postage due. back to top

Q. HOW SHOULD I MAIL MY INVITATIONS TO ENSURE THEY ARRIVE IN GOOD CONDITION?
A. The best way to mail your invitations is to bring them to your post office and ask that they be hand cancelled. This avoids them being put into a sorting machine, which could cause damage. This is not to say that hand canceling will avoid normal wear and tear on the envelopes, but it will ensure you've done everything you can to get them to your guests looking the way you'd like them to. We cannot be responsible for any damages caused to invitations and other paper goods by the postal service. back to top

Q. DO YOU ACCEPT RUSH ORDERS?
A. Rush orders of invitations (orders needed in less than 4 weeks) may be accepted on a case-by-case basis, depending on the quantity and the invitation style. At slower times of year, we're much more likely to be able to accommodate a request. A 25% surcharge will be added to the cost of the order. We do not accept any orders needed in less than two weeks, and reserve the right to accept or decline any request. We cannot accept international rush orders due to transit times. back to top

Q. WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?
A. As these are printed materials, we do not accept returns on them unless we have made a mistake in printing or assembly. Certainly if you have received the incorrect item the situation will be rectified. back to top

Q. WHAT IF I RECEIVE MY ORDER AND THERE IS AN ERROR?
A. We ask, as noted on your packing slip, that you carefully review each item ordered for style, size, color and quantity. If there has been an error on our part, we will rectify it immediately. All errors must be reported within 5 business days of receipt to be corrected at no charge to the client. back to top

Q. CAN I HAVE YOU JUST DESIGN THE INVITATION, BUT NOT PRINT IT?
A. No, we have put a lot of time and love into our designs. Many of them we've hand drawn. Because of the unique nature of many of our images, and the fact that people do share files, we will not send our images to people as files. back to top
